Kevin Gutzman is a professor at Western Connecticut State University. He is author of six books about America's founding era and its heroes. His latest book is _The Jeffersonians_, which discusses the terms of Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and James Monroe. We discuss the time of American independence in 1776 to the end of Monroe's Presidency.
